Available for custom dates

Translate the brilliant ideas in your head into organized words on the page.

  • Do you have an idea for a book but aren’t sure where to start?

  • Have you written a few chapters but are struggling with what should come next?

  • Have you been writing in fits and starts for months (or years), only to be frustrated by your manuscript still not coming together?

Often, writer’s block or lack of writing experience gets blamed for slow or no progress. But in helping authors get unstuck and complete their manuscripts, we’ve found that the real culprit is a weak organizational structure. In other words, building the right book structure with a detailed outline can get you unstuck and move you forward toward finishing your manuscript. Our intensive workshop will show you how.

Be the architect of your book

Every book needs a solid foundation. At Book Writing Bootcamp, you’ll walk away with the tools to better conceptualize, plan, and execute—so that you can write with ease and confidence, and finish your book! Best of all, our intensive, small-group format with ample one-on-one time with a Book Structure Pro means you can achieve in three days what often takes months.

Who is the workshop for?

This workshop is designed for writers of practical, advice-based nonfiction (aka prescriptive nonfiction), particularly those who are:

  • Subject-matter experts, such as psychotherapists, coaches, consultants, educators, wellness professionals, business leaders, parenting experts, spiritual guides, and the like

  • Both first-time authors and authors new to advice-based nonfiction

  • Authors wanting to self-publish or write a book proposal to submit to traditional publishers

  • Authors wanting to fast-track their writing

  • Authors who thrive in an intimate, intensive workshop environment

  • Professionals wanting to use their book to gain more clients, speaking engagements, and market reach

Are you struggling with writing your book?

Getting stuck and feeling frustrated and overwhelmed are some of the most common problems when you’re writing a book. These are often a direct result of skipping the crucial step of developing a written framework for the content. The solution: a detailed book outline.

How will a book-outlining workshop help you?

Our three-day, in-person intensive focuses on the art of outlining your book. It’s designed to help you develop your unique book concept, map out a comprehensive table of contents, and understand what should go into each chapter. This process makes it easier to write and generate a natural flow of text—all while maintaining a strong narrative arc.

Ready to jump-start your writing?

Finishing your book can seem like an impossible goal, especially if you’ve been struggling at it for a while or feeling lost in the process. We know you’re passionate about your message and motivated to write. Let the Book Structure Pros help you be your own best editor. In this workshop, you’ll expand your writing toolkit, develop a content framework that successfully engages your reader, and walk away with the clarity and confidence to successfully complete your manuscript. All in just three days.

What participants have said about our workshop

“I had lots of ideas but no structure. The mapping activity led to many aha moments for a more natural flow of topics. Now I have a clear content framework rather than a messy jumble of thoughts!”

—Jen Davidson, author of forthcoming Life Lesson Lunches

“I tend to procrastinate when faced with big projects. The focused energy of the workshop kept me engaged. Working one-on-one to organize and reorganize the sticky notes brought clarity I couldn’t achieve alone staring at a blank screen.”

—Paula Gayfield, PhD, CEDS-S, author of forthcoming Black Women, Their Bodies, and Food

“The on-the-spot mentoring was invaluable—no more wasting time stuck in writing circles that went nowhere! I left the workshop with a lot of confidence in how to organize the book and much more focus about what to write.”

—Charlynn Small, PhD, CEDS-S, coeditor of Treating Black Women with Eating Disorders, coeditor of Antiblackness and the Stories of Authentic Allies, and coauthor of forthcoming Black Women, Their Bodies, and Food
